#1 Sait Update: Craig Stafford – Sait Edmonton Satellite location instructor
First 2 year classes went well other than one incident that had a student end up in the hospital. 3rd year starts next week and there is a waiting list of 5 and a waiting list of 4 for the next 2 classes. We are currently looking at adding an additional 3rd and 4th year classes for next year as they would fit into the curriculum.
#2 Apprenticeship Committee Update: Lynn Allan – Apprenticeship Committee Chair
We need students for our school, we are currently looking for about 40 first year students to register sometime between June2011 and January 2012. We would like to contact Ed Giffen and get him to contact all of his members and let them know that we need them to enroll their guys this year especially it is very important.
~For the 4th year graduating class this year PCL construction, Glass Canada, some Suppliers and Clark Builders are all interested in being involed somehow in in this graduating class so we are currently working on this!
#3 Guest Speaker Committee Update: Henry Szewczyk – Guest Speaker Committee Chair

#4 Bylaw Committee Update: Ross Wady – Bylaw Committee Chair
Ross will be contacting Tom Woodman for assistance with the Bylaws over the next few weeks and we will be seeing some changes with them over the next few months.
#5 Special Events Committee: Wendy Clarahan: Special Events Committee Chair
We are currently looking at creating posters and some post-cards. To do this we needx some pictures of your apprentices in action. If you have any, please send them to Wendy at the following address: wclarahan@shaw.ca and she will send you a release form that you will have to get your employee to sign in order for us to use the photo as we require. Thanks!
#6 SKILLS CANADA
Do we want to do it? PGAA would be willing to contribute some of the operating cost as long as we can organize and take care of all the volunteers and so forth. It is running on the 11th and 12th of May. Be ready to vote next meeting.
#6 Safety Committee Update: Sonny Nyugen: Safety Committee Chair
April Meeting Will be Satety Meeting – currently to be announced
WCB Disability Management may be a good idea for a future topic.
#7 Richard Neal – PGAA President
Website is currently expected to go up at the end of March. We had difficulties with the programmer but we are now using an outside source and it isn’t expected to be much longer.
NEXT AGM is March 16th in Red Deer at 9am – Please make an effort to show up! It is necessary to have as many people as possible attend for as much input from members. Richard will try to keep the meeting as short as possible!
Master Glazier program is currently in discussion with SAIT. Will be some time before anything comes of this.
Certificate of Leadership given to – DESA, Can-AM and Architectural GLASS! Congratulations for being leaders in our industry!
NEWS Journeymen in Alberta just received approval through apprenticeship board to have two apprentices on staff for training, this means that they can now train two apprentices to one Journeyman, Big news in our Trade!!
Next General Meeting will be on March 7th 2011 at the Royal Executive Inn West Edmonton, Dinner served at 6pm and plates are 30.00$. 50/50 tickets are 3 for 5$ Must RSVP by MARCH 2nd.
