Dear GTA Members,
We would like to encourage you all to attend our Christmas Dinner Meeting on Monday, December 5th with the RSVP deadline this Friday, at NOON on Dec. 2nd. At your discretion, your staff are always welcome of course and for this Christmas Dinner Meeting, spouses / partners are also particularly welcome. Your RSVP is your commitment to the cost regardless of attendance but you can of course send alternates instead.
Our topic is, WHEN MOVEMENT HURTS!...How the science and practice of Ergonomics can identify and prevent pain and claim-related injury. Our guest presenter, Paolo Naccarato, is a veteran and passionate Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE). Paolo has done approximately 5 thousand office and industrial ergonomic assessments over the last 20 years of his practice. His assessments have spanned a very broad scope of workers and businesses including steel manufacturing, fabricators, concrete worksites, trucking companies, office staff, meat packing plants, health care practitioners, janitorial, plumbers, mailrooms, police officers, labs, schools, forestry operations etc. etc. He also developed and delivers two outstanding WCB workshops; Office Ergonomics and Industrial Ergonomics.
In the past decade there has been a growing recognition of the field of Ergonomics including from Canadian Workplace OHS Acts and Regulations and the regulating and prevention of soft tissue injuries. These draw primarily on “physical” ergonomics applications by regulating how physical work, such as lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting etc. should be managed.
Ergonomics has relevance in our offices, the glazing industry and glazier trade. We invite you to come and meet Paolo and discover how you can relate Ergonomics to your employees and business.
